Agentic AI: The Future of White and Gold Collar Careers

Abstract

This poster critically examines how agentic AI—systems capable of initiating and executing tasks without explicit human prompts—is reshaping white and gold collar careers. Through a Critical Discourse Analysis lens grounded in the works of Marcuse, Foucault, and Chomsky, we analyze political, institutional, and media narratives to uncover embedded ideologies. Findings suggest that agentic AI is not simply a tool for automation, but a mechanism for the reproduction of class structures, normalization of biased systems, and erosion of professional expertise. Our work highlights the need for intersectional regulatory frameworks to mitigate the socio-political risks of unchecked AI integration.
